Details | The kiloelectron volt (keV) is a unit of energy used primarily in the field of physics and engineering to represent very small quantities of energy. It is typically used to describe the energies of individual particles, such as electrons, photons, and atomic nuclei, especially in the context of atomic and nuclear reactions. 1 keV is equivalent to 1,000 electron volts (eV). An electron volt is a unit of energy defined as the amount of kinetic energy gained (or lost) by a single electron when it is accelerated through an electric potential difference of one volt.
