Details | The megaelectron volt (MeV) is a unit of energy in the field of physics, particularly in particle and nuclear physics. It represents one million electron volts (eV). An electron volt is the amount of kinetic energy gained or lost by a single electron when it is accelerated through an electric potential difference of one volt. In the context of energy, 1 eV is equal to 1.602 x 10^-19 joules. Therefore, 1 MeV is equal to 1.602 x 10^-13 joules.
