Details TeV, or Teraelectron volt, is a unit of energy used mainly in the field of particle physics and high-energy physics. It is equal to one trillion (10^12) electron volts (eV), where an electron volt is the amount of kinetic energy gained or lost by an electron when it is accelerated through an electric potential difference of one volt.

In other words, 1 TeV is equivalent to 1.602 x 10^(-7) Joules. Given that Joules are a more common unit of energy, the use of TeV provides a more convenient way to represent and compare the energies of subatomic particles, which usually have extremely small energy levels.
