Details | A zeptoelectron volt (zeV) is a unit of energy used in particle physics and quantum mechanics. It is a derived unit of the electron volt (eV), which itself is a measure of the energy gained or lost by an elementary charged particle, like an electron, when it moves through an electric field. One electron volt (1 eV) is equal to the amount of kinetic energy gained or lost by an electron when it is accelerated through an electric potential difference of one volt. zepto- is a prefix in the International System of Units (SI) denoting a factor of 10^-21.
